I’m a big fan of the show.
I hope that they’ll show it in the Philippines!
Good post.
Bravo!!! I can hardly wait for the film!!!
And hope it’s the same Elliot Cowan as Darcy!!!! YUMMM!!
Are there going to be more episodes than those 4 or is that all….??? Im really addicted…. Its like my own brand of heroine…!!!
I’m American and cringe at the thought of this being “Americanized”. It is lovely just as it is… casting was perfect, the acting had me completely drawn in. I couldn’t turn it off and watched the whole series on Netflix in one sitting! I loved something about every character by the end, even the traditionally unfavorable ones. Thank you all for creating this beautiful distraction!
This movie was the best! I’ve watched it 50 times and still can’t get enough! Thank you Jane Austen for writing a story good enough to have it’s own take-off and thank you producers and directors for creating the take-off.
I cannot wait to see what Andrews has in store for all of us.
I’ve watched the show 2 times in one week and could watch it again and again and never get bored! Wickham was so likeable, Darcy was his usual sexy and arrogant self and Bingly was so innocent and sweet.
Not to mention Amanda! Jemima did na amazing job.
Anxious to know more!
Wow! I’m a couple of years late in watching this wonderful series, as our Cable Co. introduced those of us in the states to the Ovation Channel (what with its hundreds of commercials) but I became hooked on this wonderful story, written by Guy Andrews. I had to order the DVD (without all the commercials to boot), and am so thrilled that I did. Aside from the science of time travel, and of course, many questions I had about missing persons, social security, you name it, I fell in love with this story, flawed or not! I did not want to like it or to have Jane Austen’s wonderful story tampered with, but I absolutely fell in love with it. ALL the characters, no matter what their role, were awesome. I’ve never heard of many of the actors and am interested in following all of their careers now, thanks to Ovation, Guy Andrews and, of course, Miss Jane Austen. I loved Charles Bingley played by Tom Mison; and George Wickham played by Tom Riley. Awesome actors.
I hope there is a sequel to this and that perhaps Mr. Andrews would have us embark on the adventures of the Bingleys in America, Lizzie’s new life in Hammersmith; and keep us abreast of all the other characters, like the Bennets and Collins, (I wonder if Charlotte Lucas returns?) and, of course the Darcys. I loved the chemistry between Jemima Rooper and Elliot Cowan and would hope if ever there is a sequel, we could see more of Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy in action, without Mr. Darcy losing some of his wonderful characteristics. I liked Darcy strong and haughty and he was quite passionate and firey at times! Good show, Mr. Cowan! I’m certainly going to follow his career! Outstanding! Jemima Rooper was extremely delightful and playful, but was no pushover, that’s for sure. Her timing and expressions were impeccable. She’s funny and serious at the same time. I just loved her. She has got a future, that one! I want to see more of her! I loved the relationship between Jane and Amanda; Wickham and Amanda; and on and on.
I’m a die-hard Bronte fan, and the 1980’s BBC adaptation from Jane Eyre, with Timothy Dalton, who played the role of Mr. Edward Rochester and Zelah Clarke’s role as Jane Eyre, well, no one, in my opinion, has topped that adaptation as of yet. Or let’s just say tampered with the storyline. Nonetheless, I’ve seen several adaptations, good as they were but couldn’t compare to that wonderful BBC series.
Pride & Prejudice with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen was excellent and I didn’t think it could get any better, but Lost in Austen, proved me wrong. Of course, the story was pleasantly “tampered” with a bit, but what an ingenious take on the Austen’s Pride & Prejudice. Excellent storyline and I hope to see more! Hint to the writer! And if you do, if at all possible, use those same actors!) Whatever you do, Mr. Andrews, don’t separate those those Darcys. Their quarreling/bickering brings out the passion in the both of them! Bravo to all!
My sis sent me Lost in Austen on Dvd and I was hooked after the first viewing. I’ve watched it at least 10 more times….Do we really have to Americanize it? The world is a small enough place now that we all get british slang and learn new slang along the way…LEAVE IT ALONE! it’s perfect as it is.
